Asociación Teatral Isla del Futuro ATIF
ATIF is a theatre association from Fuerteventura that uses theatre as a tool for personal growth and human connection. Today it runs the Pedagogical Theatre course and the birth of a theatre company; tomorrow, the dream is a permanent school of performing arts for all ages, with workshops in film, circus, improv and stand-up comedy.

Pedagogical Theatre
Improve your communication, self-esteem and social inclusion.
This project was born with the intention of creating a safe and trusted space where people can express themselves creatively, connect with themselves and with others, and gain tools that are useful for everyday life.

What does “Pedagogical” mean?
The term “pedagogical” in theatre refers to an educational approach centred on the participants’ personal and social development, aiming to equip them with tools for everyday life while building self-confidence, empathy and effective communication. This kind of theatre doesn’t focus only on the artistic outcome, but on a continuous learning process, fostering exploration and personal growth.
What will you learn?
- Build confidence in yourself and in others
- Stimulate play, creativity and presence
- Increase body awareness and use
- Strengthen empathy and sensitivity
- Accept mistakes as a form of learning
- Open your imagination and trust your instinct

Who we are
Pedagogical Theatre of Fuerteventura is a course with two years of experience in the north of the island, run by ATIF. The course is designed and led by Matteo Leoni, an actor, producer and artist with extensive experience in theatre, film and theatre pedagogy.
Matteo has dedicated his life to the performing arts, using theatre and film as a tool for personal growth and emotional wellbeing. After living through the frantic pace of modern society, he chose Fuerteventura as a place of inspiration, convinced that its nature and tranquillity are ideal for helping people strengthen personal awareness and empathy towards others.
His mission is to create a safe and trusted space where everyone can express themselves freely and rediscover the pleasure of playing and creating without fear.
Who teaches
Matteo Leoni
Matteo Leoni is an Italian-Colombian actor, raised between Milan and Colombia. For seven years he was Tinelli in Disney’s Quelli dell’Intervallo, a role a whole generation still recognises him by.
He then trained for three years at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia at Cinecittà and worked on sets with directors such as Pupi Avati, Alessandro D’Alatri, the Vanzina brothers and Daniele Luchetti.
He went on to study filmmaking with Miguel Bardem in Spain, worked in Victoria Hernandez’s acting workshop in Bogotá and specialised in the Meisner technique in Los Angeles, before shooting a film in English with Oscar winner Robert Moresco.
Since settling in Fuerteventura he has collaborated with a local production company and, above all, teaches pedagogical theatre.
